The Book Club book

This dramatic story follows the lives of a group of students growing up in a boarding school in an alternative version of contemporary England. Narrated by Kathy, now thirty-one, Never Let Me Go shows her trying to understand and make sense of her childhood at what seems like a wonderful school.  In time we understand what the future holds for her friends and her. This is a story of love, friendship and memory; the fragility of life is never far away.

Geoff says:  "Kazuo Ishiguro is one of our greatest British novelists.  He has won the Booker Prize, and also the Nobel Prize for Literature (2017).  This beautiful novel was shortlisted for the 2005 Booker Prize and has also been made into a successful film starring Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley."
